Born on September 2, 1956 in Portland, Maine, Fred Howard (Fred Irving Howard) played for the Chicago White Sox for his entire 1 year career. Howard broke into the bigs on May 26, 1979 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.57 ERA in 68 innings pitched in 1979, his rookie year.
