Fred Holmes (Frederick Clarence Holmes) was born on July 1, 1878 in Chicago, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on August 23, 1903 for the New York Highlanders. Holmes played for the New York Highlanders and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 2 year career.
