Fred Haney (Fred Girard Haney) was born on April 25, 1896 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1922 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1922, his rookie year, he hit .352 with 0 home runs and 25 RBI. Haney played for the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Fred Haney's best season was 1923, when he hit for a .282 average and knocked in 67 runs.
