Born on April 9, 1904 in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, Fred Frankhouse (Frederick Meloy Frankhouse) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Braves and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 13 year career. Frankhouse broke into the bigs on September 7, 1927 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.70 ERA in 50 innings pitched in 1927, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Fred Frankhouse's best season was 1934, when he posted a 3.20 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 78 batters.
