Fred Dryer (John Frederick Dryer) was born on June 6, 1946 in Hawthorne, California. After going to high school at Lawndale (CA), Dryer attended El Camino JC and San Diego State University. Dryer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1969 with the New York Giants. He played for the Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that 1975 was Fred Dryer's best year, as he ran back an interception for a touchdown.
