Fred Denfield (D.N. Denfield) in Duluth, Minnesota. Denfield attended United States Naval Academy. Denfield made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Rock Island Independents. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Rock Island Independents the entire time. Denfield also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Duluth Kelleys the entire time.
