Fred Cole (Frederick Michael Cole) was born on June 14, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey. After going to high school at West Side (Newark, NJ), Cole attended the University of Maryland. Cole made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Los Angeles Chargers. He played for the Los Angeles Chargers for his entire 1 year career.
