Fred Bruney (Fred K. Bruney) was born on December 30, 1931 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. After going to high school at Martins Ferry (OH), Bruney attended Ohio State University. Bruney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1953 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 4 year NFL career.Bruney also played in the AFL for 3 years, playing for the Boston Patriots the entire time.
