Fred Boensch (Frederick Maxmilian Boensch) was born on September 27, 1920 in Portland, Oregon. After going to high school at San Mateo (CA), Boensch attended Stanford University and Univeristy of California. Boensch made his professional debut in the NFL in 1947 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Fred Boensch's best year.
