Fred Blackwell (Frederick William Blackwell) was born on September 7, 1891 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He made his Major League debut on September 25, 1917 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Blackwell played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 3 year career.
