Frank Welch

Frank Welch (Frank Tiguer Welch) was born on August 10, 1897 in Birmingham, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on September 9, 1919 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1920, his rookie year, he hit .258 with 4 home runs and 40 RBI. Welch played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 9 year career.
Most people believe that Frank Welch's best season was 1923, when he hit for a .297 average and knocked in 55 runs.
