Born on January 23, 1930 in Hollywood, California, Frank Sullivan (Franklin Leal Sullivan) played for the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 11 year career. Sullivan broke into the bigs on July 31, 1953 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.14 ERA in 206.1 innings pitched in 1954, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Frank Sullivan's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1955, when he posted a 2.91 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 129 batters. However, others believe that it was 1957, when he posted a 2.73 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 127 batters.
