Frank Papish

Born on October 21, 1917 in Pueblo, Colorado, Frank Papish (Frank Richard Papish) played for the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 6 year career. Papish broke into the bigs on May 8, 1945 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.74 ERA in 84.1 innings pitched in 1945, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Frank Papish's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1947, when he posted a 3.26 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 79 batters. However, others believe that it was 1946, when he posted a 2.74 ERA and struck out 66 batters.
