Frank Matteo (Francis Pasquale Matteo) was born on April 2, 1896 in Syracuse, New York. After going to high school at North (Syracuse, NY), Matteo attended Syracuse University. Matteo made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Syracuse Pros. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Syracuse Pros the entire time. Matteo also played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Rochester Jeffersons the entire time.
