Born on September 15, 1940 in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Frank Linzy (Frank Alfred Linzy) played for the San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 11 year career. Linzy broke into the bigs on August 14, 1963 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 1.43 ERA in 81.2 innings pitched in 1965, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Frank Linzy's best season was 1965, when he posted a 1.43 ERA and notched 21 saves.
