Born on September 11, 1869 in Hopkins, Michigan, Frank Kitson (Frank R. Kitson) played for the Baltimore Orioles, Brooklyn Superbas, Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators and New York Highlanders over the course of his 10 year career. Kitson broke into the bigs on May 19, 1898 with the Baltimore Orioles, and put up a 3.24 ERA in 119.1 innings pitched in 1898, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Frank Kitson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1901, when he posted a 2.98 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 127 batters. However, others believe that it was 1899, when he posted a 2.77 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 75 batters.
