Born on August 26, 1888 in Newbern, Alabama, Frank Allen (Frank Leon Allen) played for the Brooklyn Superbas, Pittsburgh Rebels and Boston Braves over the course of his 6 year career. Allen broke into the bigs on April 24, 1912 with the Brooklyn Superbas, and put up a 3.63 ERA in 109 innings pitched in 1912, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Frank Allen's best season was 1915, when he posted a 2.51 ERA, won 23 games and struck out 127 batters.
