Francisco Liriano done for the season

Minnesota Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano went down today in his return from a shoulder injury, with pain in the same shoulder. Although there is no information available as to the extent of the injury, some believe that it could require Tommy John's Surgery, a reconstructive surgery that would keep him out for all of next season.

Sad to see. Liriano was so fun to watch. Have there been a lot of rookie pitchers over the years who had to get Tommy John's Surgery? Seems like he's too young for it.

They just said on TBS that there was no new damage in Liriano's arm. So, now it looks like no TJ surgery.

He is a rookie. Has he EVER had to pitch this much in ANY season... He'll be fine. Better to take caution this year than turn him into Wood/Prior. (Take a look at Nolan Ryan's first 4 years and wonder why he pitched until he was 60...)
