Fran Mattingly (Francis Edward Mattingly) was born on December 4, 1919. Mattingly attended Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University-Kingsville. Mattingly made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1947 with the Chicago Rockets. He played for the Chicago Rockets for his entire 1 year career.
