From the author of Killer Angels (made into the movie Gettysburg), and other American Civil War books, comes For Love of the Game. For Love of the Game is the story of an aging, almost over-the-hill pitcher who has done the almost impossible, pitched a perfect game. The book was adapted by Dana Stevens into the movie of the same name starring Kevin Costner as the over-the-hill pitcher Billy Chapel. The movie follows along as Chapel pitches the perfect game, "seeing" Chapel's thought process as he pitches the game (seems to be thinking more about a specific woman than baseball).
