I forgot how much I love football. Seriously nothing brings me more joy than sitting down with the guys for a good Sunday of games. Since I am short on time heres my thoughts from this weeks games.
Jets V. Dolphins
I think the score made this game seem closer than it was. The Jets offense was rock solid. Mainly working a shorter game because of Chad Pennington but can you argue with results? Chad has 4-0 T.D. to INT ratio and QB ratings of 130 and 112. Clemens is probably going to be a good QB in this league someday but you can't even argue that right now the Jets are a better team with him at the helm. However Jets fans should be worrying about the defense. The smoke and mirrors of last years team seem to have faded. Simply put this team is not suited to run the 3-4. Vilma and Robertson are playing horribly out of position. Vilma is simply a poor fit for this defense. He's useless in their 3-4 alignment. He needs to be playing in a scheme like the Bears where he is protected by meaty D-Tackles and allowed to play sideline to sideline. He's getting eaten up in this scheme which requires him to be taking on blockers. It's a damn shame because he could be one of the top MLB in the league right now. This team is still missing a true nose tackle, also killing Vilma. Dewayne Robertson is a Warren Sapp type player. He needs to be getting after the QB not taking up space. Next year I guarantee you he gets traded a Cover 2 defense and blows up.
Giants V Redskins
I'm always man enough to admit when I'm wrong. The Giants O-Line has made me look foolish. David Diehl isn't a pro-bowler but he's been solid. The rest of the line has been really good also. I mean look at the success journeyman Derrick Ward is having. I also have always been a big Eli Manning hater and I take that back...somewhat. I am no longer going to question his physical tools. He has the arm, he has the stature and now he has the accuracy (my biggest knock on him in years past) however I still question his decision making ability. It seems like for every great throw he makes he makes a boneheaded decision. You had to cringe watching him chuck that Interception in the second half for no reason. It just seems he's trying to do too much. Maybe he feels like he needs to score 40 points just to keep it close because the defense has been so awful, but thats still not an excuse for poor decision making.
Speaking of defense, did someone flip a switch that second half? Seriously was that even the same team. Here's what we learned; Aaron Ross should start alongside Madison, Kiwi needs to play end again and Justin Tuck should be on the field more and R.W. on the field less.
At the end of the day it still wasn't a pretty performance by the Giants. If Joe Gibbs was still alive that game goes into O.T..
A wins a win and that's all that matters. 1-2 is a lot better than 0-3.
Niners V Steelers
The final score of this game doesn't indicate the way the game played out. Yes the Steelers were in control the entire game but until the last 10 minutes or so the Niners were hanging with them.
The Niners defense still played decently. Willis and Clements are outstanding. The loss of Lawson was apparent. Alot of those plays to Heath Miller were Hanibal Neives responsibility. The play calling was better. Don't really understand why we can't run the ball. I think the Niners are running up the gut too much. I want more counters and tosses. Clearly Gore hasn't forgotten how to run. Look LDT only has a 132 yards on the season.
Alas the Niners are still 2-1 and can make a statement next week with a win against what seems to be the only other competition in NFC Worst.
On the other hand this Steelers team might be the 3rd best team in the NFL.

Packers V Chargers
The Packers have had two phenomenal drafts in a row. I think this team is legit. On the other side when Norv Turners your head coach that means Norv Tuners your head coach. (Am I the only one that saw this coming?)
Bengals Seahwaks
Why isn't Marvin Lewis more scrutinized? The Begnals defense sucks ass, isn't he suppose to be a defensive coach or am I crazy? The Seahwaks still just don't do anything for me. They have all the talent in the world and a great coaching staff but there not as dominant as they should be.
Why do the Bears still get prime time games. Look they really aren't that good. Grossman is awful, Benson is awful and the defense...slightly overrated. Enough already.
