Food For Thought: Week 6

-Najeh Davenport is at it again. He was charged with three misdemeanor counts including domestic violence, endangering children, and unlawful restraint on Thursday. Davenport could be facing up to two years in jail if convicted. If you remember correctly, Davenport was charged for pooping in a girl's dorm closet when she was sleeping 5 years ago. Hence, the nickname "Dump Truck." The trial will probably drag on for awhile, but Goodell or the Pittsburgh Steelers could take disciplinary actions. Well, atleast Fast Willie Parker owners won't need to worry about Davenport vulturing touchdowns for long.

-I think we were all hoping that the Buccaneers would go out and trade for RB that would make an immediate fantasy impact. The Bucs were targeting guys like Mewlede Moore, LaBrandon Toefield, Tatum Bell, and Rueben Droughns. Instead, the Bucs went out and signed Zack Crockett. Ugh. Crockett may get a few goal-line carries, but it's clear now that Graham will be the feature back until Pittman returns.

-We finally got a timetable on when Stephen Jackson will make his return. Week 10. If you are a Steven Jackson owner and you're struggling, I would definately try to sell him high right now because Jackson will only give you about 3 or 4 games before your playoffs.

-43 year-old Vinny Testaverde signed with the Carolina Panthers this week and could start against the Cardinals on Sunday. Leno made a joke tonight about Vinny being around so long that he remembered when the Patriots were stealing signs from the British. If I'm a Steve Smith owner, I'm definitely worried now. If I'm looking for a defense to start this week, I'm picking the Cardinals.

-Two disgruntled TE's will face off this Monday night. Shockey was quoted this week as saying: “Obviously, I’m not 21 years old anymore … A bunch of things have changed, a bunch of elements, a bunch of pieces in the puzzle have gone elsewhere. It’s just different. It’s not the same as it was and it’s never going to be.” Alge Crumpler also went off this week as he criticized the Falcons offense: “If [the defense is playing] a cover-two and we’ve got Michael Jenkins running down the middle of the field, or myself running down the middle of the field, why aren’t we getting opportunities to make plays? That’s what I’ve been doing my whole career.” It should be interesting to see if either of these guys get an increase in targets on Monday.

-Mike Holmgren said that Maurice Morris will be getting more carries. Morris has only had 8 carries this year as he's been battling a hip injury. Morris averaged 10 carries a game last year and I wouldn't expect him to average any more than that this year. If I'm an Alexander owner, I'm closely watching this situation.

-On the injury front, it looks like Lewis, Jordan, and Johnson will be game-time decisions. Lewis and Johnson both have favorable matchups if they play. If they don't Wright and Watson should be good bye-week or injury fill-ins. Jordan and Fargas should be avoided this week as they face a tough Chargers run defense.

Good thing I picked up Graham in my fantasy league a couple weeks back.

If Steven Jackson is out until week 10, how do you sell high? Everyone knows he's out.
