Born on April 20, 1956 in Glen Cove, New York, Floyd Chiffer (Floyd John Chiffer) played for the San Diego Padres for his entire 3 year career. Chiffer broke into the bigs on April 7, 1982 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 2.95 ERA in 79.1 innings pitched in 1982, his rookie year.
