Born on January 24, 1901 in Rhems, South Carolina, Flint Rhem (Charles Flint Rhem) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Braves over the course of his 12 year career. Rhem broke into the bigs on September 6, 1924 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 4.92 ERA in 170 innings pitched in 1925, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Flint Rhem's best season was 1926, when he posted a 3.21 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 72 batters.
