Flex Schedule Turning Into a Boon For NBC

As a football fan, I have found the new NBC flex schedule to be a favorable option for football. As many of you have probably noticed, the ESPN Monday Night Football games have, for the most part, really sucked due to a fixed schedule. Not so for NBC. They have the option of turning a dog scheduled game into a winning match-up game. The flex idea is a great concept. A game that may look, on paper, to be a great game back in April, may not be so today. So, just switch that game with an afternoon game to get a favorable match-up.
However, there are going to be issues in the upcoming weeks. This Sunday, CBS is sure to lock the Colts-Cowboys game and FOX will probably lock the Bears-Jets game. There are only a couple of games worth taking to make the flex schedule work, i.e., Bengals-Saints or Chargers-Broncos.
From an attending fans perspective, the idea may or may not be a great idea. I can see the idea as a positive for the tailgaters that get to party a bit longer, but what about the fans that have plans after the game or have to drive long distances to get back home after the game. For them, the idea must suck.
But that is just my opinion.
