What a way to start this page. Kevin Durant is moving on to the NBA. Not that I'm surprised by it, nor should anyone. He really hand nothing else to prove in the NCAA and I'm not saying anything new here. But what I will say is that he did his time at Texas like a true professional and was the ultimate team player. Maybe that's what got so many people thinking he would stay. He was such a great teammate, folks thought he would stay around for the team and a possible National Championship. You certainly can't help folks from wishing.
Anyways, that's what this page is all about. Just regular folks talking Longhorn sports. I'm sure going to talk about Rick Barnes getting the big $2M pay check and other things like new recruits, Monday morning quarterbacking, Texas baseball domination (except over Rice) and even track and field. I'll talk about Texas women's sports also because it's about time women's basketball moves back to the elite of the NCAA and our new coach is certainly a step in the right direction. I'll also talk about women's sports because my hope is for my daughter to play there someday (volleyball or soccer...doesn't really matter). I'll also talk about Texas Swimming because I was a swimmer growing up, but just wasn't fast enough to make that team. I went to the summer camps hoping to get noticed, but it never happened. I'm 40 now and I'm now over it...sort of.
I hope this becomes a collaboration of Texas fans to discuss Texas sports in a rational and intelligent manner, yet not too formal because I will typically be drinking beer as I write. Let me know what you think...and call me KJ
