Fired for being a Galatasaray fan

(Here's a tidbit from my daily I posted today. I know I said I wouldn't do this often and I'm sticking to it, but this was just too interesting not to share. Cheers.)
If you didn't know, Turkish clubs Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray have a fierce rivalry, some say one of the most intense in the world. In fact, if you are a Galatasaray fan in Turkey and you work for a Fenerbahçe fan, it would probably be a good idea if you didn't wear your Galatasaray shirt to work, especially after an embarassing draw by your rival gave your club the Turkish League title. Unfortunately, being a Turk, Erdinç Ulu is a stubborn man. Not only did he wear the shirt once, but after being told to go home and change, which he refused, he wore it again and was sent home as a warning. The third time broke the camel's back and he was fired for wearing inappropriate attire to the workplace. Deciding that his dismissal was unfair, Ulu took it to court and after losing in the lower levels of the Turkish court system, he took it to the Supreme Court of Appeals where the original decision was overturned. His Fenerbahçe bosses were forced to pay him four-months salary and assumingly court costs and lawyer fees as well and if they did not restore him to his former position in four-months time, they would have to compensate him.
So what does this teach us? Defying authority, especially one's that support the rival club, pays off. Now if I can only find a police officer or boss who's a Man U fan. I'd probably never have to work again, even it did cost me a few days in the hospital and a limp for the rest of my life.
