Philadelphia Phillies general manager Pat Gillick must make a bold move to save the season. The Phillies entered tonight's game against the New York Mets with a 33-31 record, 7.5 games behind the Mets.
The game is currently in the top of the 3rd inning. The score is 4-0, Mets, and Endy Chavez just hit a triple, and has now scored on a single. So, the score is now 5-0.
The Phillies are also making STUPID mental mistakes, both in the field, at the plate, and on the base pads.
So there is only one thing that can be done now. Fire the manager, Charlie Manuel. Do it now. The Florida Marlins did it in 2003, and they ultimately won the World Series.
So Pat, do us all a favor and fire Cholly now.
Make it 6-0 on a triple by Reyes. . . .
