Ferris Fain

Ferris Fain (Ferris Roy Fain) was born on March 29, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1947 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1947, his rookie year, he hit .291 with 7 home runs and 71 RBI. Fain played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 9 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Ferris Fain's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1950, when he hit for a .282 average and knocked in 83 runs. However, others believe that it was 1948, when he hit for a .281 average and knocked in 88 runs.
