by Rohandevgan

In a dramatic twist to the tale of espionage in formula 1, sacked Ferrari staff member Nigel Stepney has opened his mouth claiming that Ferrari were also spying on Mclaren. Nigel who was Head of Development claims that while he was with ferrari, he received information about the Mclaren car. weight distribution and other car parts is the information he claims to have received. Stepney claims the information was given to him by Mclarens Chief Designer Mike Coughlan who played an instrumental role in the 49.2 million dollar fine doled out to Mclaren last month. BBC has seen a copy of the letter sent by Stepney to Max Moxley, the FIA President claiming to have sent a letter to the governing body regarding a certain part of the ferrari car. Stepney feels that Ferrari got off lightly and that, like Mclaren should be docked points.

It would be funny should this be true, in which case they should get the same penalty as McLaren. I can see the headline now - "BMW Sauber wins Constructors Title by finishing fifth in every race"

Can't we just give all of this a rest now? Nobody cares anymore! Furthermore, Hamilton might get docked his win in Japan, because when behind a safety car, two cars behind him collided. I can't see why he would, but then it would make the championship more interesting if he did lose the points, and it may help Ferrari International Assistance (the FIA) make the decision.

This year was supposed to be one of the closest driver championship since Prost, Senna Mansen, etc., but now it has been tainted by all these scandals.

There have been worse scandals in Formula One throughout its history. Schumacher driving into Villeneuve at Jerez in 1997. Schumacher driving into Hill at Adelaide in 1994. Clark being (rightly or wrongly) blamed for the death of von Trips at Monza in 1961. Racing at Montjuich in 1975 on a track without secure Armco barriers. And Imola 1994 probably ruined the season moreso. Nobody cares that Schumacher was World Champion that year. This season has been a controversial one, but the incumbent champion (Hamilton) is probably the least involved out of anybody. So good for him. And teams spying on one another isn't really difficult, all you have to do is walk down the pitlane, or watch them on the track. So it really has been blown out of proportion. If Hamilton wins, I think that will be the memory of the season. The last debutant to win the World Championship was Giuseppe Farina in 1950 - and that was only because everybody was a debutant that year (it was the first year of the World Championship).
