Fernando Gonzalez (Jose Fernando (Quinones) Gonzalez) was born on June 19, 1950 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on September 15, 1972 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1974, his rookie year, he hit .204 with 1 home run and 9 RBI. Gonzalez played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres over the course of his 6 year career.
