Born on January 16, 1891 in Louisville, Kentucky, Ferdie Schupp (Ferdinand Maurice Schupp) played for the New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Robins and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 10 year career. Schupp broke into the bigs on August 19, 1913 with the New York Giants, and put up a 5.10 ERA in 54.2 innings pitched in 1915, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ferdie Schupp's best season was 1917, when he posted a 1.95 ERA, won 21 games and struck out 147 batters.
