  • The Pittsburgh Steelers defeat the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL in Detroit, Michigan by the score of 21-10. Steelers' wide receiver Hines Ward is named Super Bowl MVP with 5 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. Ward also rushed one time for 18 yards.
