Jordan Staal of the Pittsburgh Penguins became youngest player (18 years, 153 days) in NHL history to record a hat-trick when he scored three goals, including the overtime winner, against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jaromir Jagr of the New York Rangers became the 12th player in NHL history to earn 1,500 career points. Jagr had three assists as the Rangers defeated the Washington Capitals 5-2 at Verizon Center.
