Featured items on the right side of main page

Suggest other featured stuff and we'll change it. :)

I was just thinking the same thing. Not sure I can stand looking at the Big House for another day.

How about things relating to current events? Perhaps featured quotes on Corey Lidle, a feature on the NLDS, etc. I wasn't sure that something that anyone could change, or if it was up to the owners of the site.

Create pages and suggest them :) I made the Cory Lidle Memorial Page a featured one.

Cool...I will come up with a few things.

I suggest putting one of Alex H's english sports as the featured sport, ie. Snooker. Shows to someone that is new to the site that we cover a lot of different topics. Perhaps we should have someone that is responsible for switching these daily. I am happy to help.

While we're talking about suggestions for the site, I think something needs to be done about new articles not appearing immediately on the front page. You have to get a certain number of votes before they do but how are you going to get the votes if your article is buried? And, yes, I realize that just having to click the "new stuff" tab is not exactly being buried real deep, but I have definitely noticed a drop off in comments since this change. I don't think people are as likely to hit the "new stuff" tab as they were to scroll down a bit and see new articles. I love the new design of the site but I think less participation seems to be one of the negatives.

I don't think one of these already exists, so I made a Featured Content Suggestions page at the community portal in the interest of having one place where all suggestions can be made.

I was confused about that also, about why the featured stories remained the same for so long. Glad to see that side hasn't become frozen like a snapshot of time.

Got to admit though - I had never heard of Irish Road Bowling a week ago!?

Is there a way to get Demonboy's Fantasy Geekly page as a featured item permanently on the front page?

Wow! The new article instead of the road bowling appears to be the missing link between cricket and baseball...

On the current featured article about Lidle, it says he died on October 12 instead of 11. I couldn't figure out how to edit that, but I just wanted to let you guys know.
