Fay Abbott (Lafayette Abbott) was born on August 16, 1895 in Clearport, Ohio. After going to high school at Lancaster (OH), Abbott attended Kenyon College and Syracuse University. Abbott made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Dayton Triangles. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Dayton Triangles the entire time. Abbott also played in the NFL for 8 years, playing for the Dayton Triangles the entire time.
