Fate Echols (Fate L. Echols) was born on June 29, 1939 in Union Springs, Alabama. After going to high school at Washington (South Bend, IN), Echols attended Northwestern University. Echols made his professional debut in the NFL in 1962 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.
