FarnsworthLESS!

by user Akadnyce

Did anyone watch the Yankee game last night, in the 8th inning when Kyle Farnsworth less was pitching? He struck out Nick Swisher and Joe Torre brought in Mariano Rivera… MARIANA RIVERA, Mr. Farnsworth less! Farnsworth less had the nerve to be upset that he was replaced with probably the best closer in baseball! He looked really selfish as he stormed off into the dugout, throwing his glove (and a tantrum) because Torre, a Hall of Fame manager made a decision to take him out.

Torre has made some questionable moves this year but after having horrendous road trip, the Yankees needed a win and bringing Rivera in was a great move.

Farnsworth less should be thinking about the the team instead having a fit. And on top of that, he refused to talk to the press after the game to explain what he was thinking.. Come on man, you have no right to be upset! If you’re not already on the Yankees list of players to be shipped out for opening your mouth on the Roger Clemens situation, you definitely should be on it now. You don’t disrespect an all-star closer and an all-star manager. You don’t disrespect the Yankees, no matter how much the the players themselves have been doing that with their play all year..

He was pretty good in 2005. Then he was back to his old self in 2006 and 2007. Good nickname for him.

Farnsworth less did the same shit as a Cub as well. However without the strikeouts and a few more wild pitches.

When I saw the title I was hoping the Yanks got rid of him.

Hmmm....a former closer who wanted to close out the game...i don't blame him...you do the same thing, I'd be pissed too...but I'd (like to think) be more of an adult about it...

He actually went up to Rivera after Mo got the out and gave him a high five. He was passionate about the game, of course you want to play. He was dead on about the Clemens situation btw...

yeah, after he had a chance to cool off while sitting on the bench and probably realizing he was wrong.

And that no other team would probably sign him if he lost his job with the Yankees.

Torre IS getting up there in years and manages games like my 90yr old grandfather does from his chair in the living room; namely, poorly and slowly.

Joe Torre is a class act and does not deserve to have his career threatened by Steinbrenner every time this team goes in the tank. No other team in MLB would dare to treat a manager of this magnitude with such disrespect. Torre brought tremendous stability to this organization with a previous notorious reputation of firing managers at will and restored (think I'm going to barf here but oh well...) the "pride" back into the Yankees. Despite all the garbage and threats thrown in the direction of this man, Torre continues to do his job with class and without complaint. This team stinks but second guessing Torre's managing is not going to disguise the fact that his squad is rotten to the core due to poor player personnel decisions from Steinbrenner & Cashman. It may very well be a foregone conclusion that Torre's days as manager are numbered and it is a shame that his presence will not be appreciated fully until he is gone.

I think it is stupid that Joe Torre and Brian Cashman's jobs are always threatened everytime the Yankees have a bad stretch. This all started back in 2002 when the Yankees failed to advance past the ALDS. Since then, every year when the Yankees struggle, or get blown out a couple of times in a week, or if Steinbrenner is in a bad mood peoples jobs get threatened and some useless coach like the strength guy earlier this year gets fired instead.

Farnsworth blew it for the Braves a couple of years ago in the playoffs, something I'll never forget.

This sounds like the typical Yankee fan. "You don't disrespect the Yankees?" Come on, as if they are more presitigious than any other team? All the other teams are just supposed to grab their ankles and take it?

That's why America hates the Yankees. And personally I think the city is wart on this great country. Lords knows I want the Red Sox to smother them.

All in all, yes, it's OK that a guy has an opinion about a pitcher 5 years past his prime and just happens to get emotional every once in a while. I heard them talking about this same crap on Sportscenter. He didn't disrespect anyone, Yankee fans are just to smug to see clearly.

When did Farnsworth ever HIT his prime? Just asking 'cause I must have missed it.
