Fantasy Football Geekly: Week 15

by user Demonboy

The stars were definately out in week 14. If this is what it's going to be like coming down the stretch, is gonna be VERY interesting for most leagues (lol). While there are way too many stars to do a full list, let's just stick with the top. The stars of Fantasy Football for week 14 are:

Drew Brees - 384 yrds 5 TD's. 1 word - WOW!!! 5!?

Marc Bulger - 356 yrds 3 TD's

Chris Weinke - 423 yrds 1 TD. 423 yrds? Very good - guess that is what to be expected when you throw 61 times!

Willie Parker - 223 yrds 1 TD.

Ladell Betts - 171 yrds. 2 weeks in a row he's on my list - impressive!

Maurice Jones-Drew - 166 yrds 2 TD's. Power of a Faulk, moves like Payton & vision of O.J. What is there not to like about this guy? A definate 1st rounder in many drafts next year!

Artose Pinner - 125 yrds 3 TD's. Who saw that one coming???

LaDainian Tomlinson - 103 yrds 3 TD's. Have to include him this week. Not only for his 3 TD's but a HUGE UP's for having the new rushing record!!

Donald Driver - 160 yrds 1 TD. Didn't I tell ya he was going to have a huge game?

Terry Glenn - 150 yrds

Drew Carter - 144 yrds 1 TD

Injuries

Shaun Rogers - Now why am I listed a defensive player here? Well, with this player out, the Lions are a lot weaker of a rushing defense. Which means, if you have anyone that are facing the Lions in the up & coming weeks, it would be advisable to start them.

Kevin Jones - Lisfranc fracture. Underwent surgery on Wed. He is out for the rest of the year.

Chester Taylor - Still listed as questionable for week 15 with his ribs.

Ronnie Brown - Hand. Will not be playing in week 15.

Warrick Dunn - Calf. Listed as questionable.

Jerious Norwood - Knee. Listed as questionable.

Darrell Jackson - Turf toe. Out for week 15.

Playoffs Abound

The playoffs are now officially here. If you were lucky enough to make them - congrats - good luck & hope you win. For those of you that did not make them - I'm truely sorry, better luck next year perhaps - even the best of us do loose.

Now that the playoffs are here, your league is probably set up that this will be the last week of free agent picks. If so, with all the RB injuries, you may be hurting. With that, I'll be concitrating on some of the possible RB starts/pickups.

In my leagues I went 11-2 in 16 leagues (3 did not play. 1 - Bye week & 2 did not make playoffs) My overall is still a combined 141-76-4 (.638 PCT), getting a playoff spot in 10 leagues (#1 overall in 4), elimated out of playoffs in 5 leagues (3 leagues I'm done, 2 leagues in consolation bracket) and in 1 league, there is no playoff system.

After this report, I will bid you adue (sp) until next next years Fantasy Football drafting. Most free agent picks will be locked & rosters should be set. For week 16 & 17, best I can reccomend is to trust your gut - it's usually right. However, if you do want a second opinion, you can always send me a a message on here or Yahoo ID xdemonboy or even via email at sirdesmond69@hotmail.com It's been a real pleasure. Hope to see ya next year. FYI - I will still be around writing once in a while about other subjects - you can't get rid of me that easy (lol).

Start Em

Devery Henderson - Against Washington at home? Uh, yeah - this is almost a no brainer (lol)

Marty Booker - Been a favorite target for Joey Harrington as of late. Catching 4 TD's with 279 yrds in last 3 games. Against Buffalo, have to like this.

Maurice Jones-Drew - After 166 yrds and 3 TD's, do you need any further proof that this guy is a stud? Definately becoming a must start from here on out.

Brandon Jacobs - With the Giants facing a very poor rush defense (29th ranked) of the Eagles, Brandon wouldn't be a bad pickup & start. I can see a TD here.

Artose Pinner - If Chester Taylor is unable to go, Pinner will be the ball carrier. Against the Jets, this is a favoritable matchup.

Jay Cutler - Yes I know that his last 2 games were bad. But, in week 15, Denver plays a very bad Arizona team in the warm weather. I like this matchup.

Donald Driver - If your a Driver owner, how do you like this matchup? Against the pathetic Lions AT HOME. You would have to be salivating.

Sammy Morris - With Ronnie Brown out and the Fins going against the 27th ranked run defense of the Bills, this would not be a bad start.

Sit Em

Marques Colston - With his high ankle sprain, I would not trust it this week. Those injuries have a tendency of lingering around. Sit him for this week - next week, re-evaluate.

Warrick Dunn - Yes, I would sit him. With him as questionable and not practicing on Wed, I wouldn't trust winning or loosing the week on a game time decision.

Joseph Addai - Not only is his foot giving him problems - making him questionable for Sunday, but the Colts are playing the Bengals. Even if healthy, I don't like this matchup - #3 RB at best even if 100%.

Cadillac Williams - Against the Bears, are you kidding? Of course sit him here.

Waiver Wire

Sammy Morris - With Ronnie Brown out with a hand injury, Morris will be carrying the load for at least 1 more week.

Ron Dayne - This would not be a bad pick to get now. While Houston is facing a tough run defense of New England, it is not avisable to start Ron here. However, in week 16, Houston does face the Colts - which by the way are the worst team against the run - good FA for here.

Marcus Robinson - Lacking in WR depth? Look at Robinson. In week 12, he had 7 catches for 82 yrds & 1 TD. Just look ahead at the schedule - Minn plays Jets (week 15), Green Bay (week 16) & St. Louis (week 17). could be the sleeper you're looking for during the playoffs.

Devin Hester - If your league allows indivual return yardage, and your hurting, pick this guy up ASAP!! He WILL be going quick in your league. A definate #3 WR or flex spot option if your league allows this.

Cedric Benson - While he was dropped early in most leagues, it's time to give him another look. With the Bears wrapping up their division and a now have a bye week for the playoffs, look for Lovey Smith to give some extra carries to Benson so he can rest Thomas Jones for the playoffs.

Good job as always Demon ---
If your league rewards return yardage, and Hester is still a free agent, something is wrong. Same goes for Benson... he's getting more carries than Thomas Jones and should be owned in every league.

All right, I am in a 2 round, 2 weeks/round playoff system, and I have Romo and Young. Who do I start if I can afford to take a gamble. Also, MN D/ST or Den D/ST?

Lesser of the 2 evils here lol I would go with Romo against Atl.... it's a little bit better than Young against the tougher Def of Jax...

FP -- depends on your defensive scoring system... Minnesota has the better matchup, and they are the best run D in the NFL. If you get points for allowing low yardage, Minny is the choice.

Best run D yes... but the Jets don't have much of a running game anyways... it's Min's passing D that I'm not sure about... don't get me wrong, I do like them here... but just like you said Joe, it depends on the scoring system - With Arz playing like shyt in most games, I think that Den could score more points than Min...
