All I can say is just WOW! Holy freaking cow WOW! Week 10 was definately a scoring fest! So many stars so little time to review but I'll do my best:
Chad Johnson - You have got to be kidding me! A franchise record of 260 yrds 2 TD's... 260 yrds!?!? I don't remember ever seeing reception yards that high outside of a Madden game!
Donald Driver - 191 yrds 1 TD
Brett Favre - 347 yrds 2 TD's... What a great game for his possible last perfomance in Minnestota against the Vikes
Carson Palmer - 440 yrds 3 TD's... The Bengals 1st 400+ passing yards since 2001!!!
Philip Rivers - 337 yrds 3 TD's
LaDainian Tomlinson - Proved once again why he's the best RB in the game today with his 4 TD's...
Tony Romo - 308 yrds 2 TD's
Drew Brees - 398 yrds 1 TD
Marques Colston - 169 yrds
Steve McNair - 373 yrds 3 TD's... revenge never tasted so sweet huh Steve??
Frank Gore - 159 yrds
Willie Parker - 213 yrds 2 TD's
Now that I've composed myself from the monster week, lets move forward, shall we?
By now you're league is probably in it's final week of trading. Look at your roster... are you happy with it? Where are your holes that you need to plug? Can the team that you're looking at, not only get you into the playoffs but go deep in them? If you answered no to ANY question - you need to make a move and FAST! Now how do you determine who trade with? Personally, I would start looking at the bottom. Most teams sitting at the bottom may be willing to trade away 1 good player to get 2 decent players in return.
While this may not seem right, it's still logical. That extra player that the trading team gets, they may be able to drop a pretty poor player and at least make thier team somewhat more competitive.
If that doesn't work, post a message on your league board. Hopefully, you'll get at least a nibble or 2. If all else fails, of course stick with your team. Like no S*!&@ right? (lol)
Now that you've at least tried to make a trade, you should trim your roster size down by 1 more player this week. That's right, you read that right. Leave an empty spot(s) on your roster. Get rid of your worst player. Why? Unless you have some really great matchups with all of your bench players that you may be thinking about starting, why have the on your bench? If you have 6 bench players but only 4 may have a great matchup or 2, then those 2 players that not only don't have a good matchup and are probably your worst players, thier just eating space. During playoff time, you just want to look at your best players or best matchups.
As for my leagues though, I went 8-7-1 in 16 leagues and my overall is still a combined 101-56-3 (.620 PCT) no more undefeateds left... wait a sec, does a tie count as still undefeated though? Not only was that just a pathetic week but another freaking tie!! UGH Mother flocker!!!
Injury Report
- Matt Hasselbeck - Coach Holmgren said that there is a chance that Matt will play in week 11 against San Fran. It all depends how his practice goes on Friday. Monitor this closely
- Willis McGahee - Rib injury. Reported to be out for a few weeks.
- Amani Toomer - Out for the season with knee injury.
- Joe Horn - Groin injury. Listed as questionable.
- Bernard Berrian - Ribs. While he did practice last Friday even though he didn't play on Sunday, he's still making pogress. He still MAY play. If you have him, monitor this one.
- Clinton Portis - Done for the year (shoulder surgery). If available, grab Ladell Betts.
- Terry Glenn - Quads. Playing in week 11 is doubtful. Watch this one closely. If unable to go, Patrick Crayton (5 catches 104 yrds 1 TD in week 10) is a decent pickup.
- Tony Gonzalez - Strained shoulder. Should only miss 1 game (week 11).
- Tiki Barber - He sprained a thumb on Sunday. While he's in a cast, he still may play. Monitor this very close and have a plan B just in case.
- Trent Green - Doctors cleared him to start practice on Friday. He got the nod to start Sunday against Oakland.
- Frank Gore - He suffered a mild concussion in week 10's win against the Lions. He did not practice on Wed (playing it safe?) and is listed as questionable. Watch this one. Because he touches the ball so much, it's so difficult to bench him. For now though, expect him to play against Seattle.
Play Em
Tony Romo - Great QB and putting up some very good numbers. Week 11, Dallas plays the Colts. Not the greatest matchup but you MUST ride the hot hand while he is hot! Some people say sit Tony while others including myself say start (again, hot hand), go with your gut here. Low #1 high #2 QB in week 11.
Mark Clayton - In week 10, Mark grabbed 7 catches for 125 yrds & a TD. In the last 2 games, he's been a favorite of Steve McNair with 15 receptions. With Baltimore going against the 3rd worst passing defense of the Falcons, you have to like these odds.
Chris Henry - With T.J. Houshmandzadeh sufforing a mild concussion in week 10, there is a good chance that Chris will see some extra playing time. In 3 of the last 4 games, Chris has scored - totaling 4 TD's. Chris makes for a decent #3 WR in week 11 at New Orleans.
Shaun Alexander - A lot of people have him on the bench. But the word is that he actually could have played but Sea just wanted to play it safe. Oh yeah - it's against San Fran. No way does he get benched in the leagues I have him!
Anthony Thomas - Willis McGahee is still out. Week 11, Buffalo plays Houston. If Thomas can run for 109 against the Colts, expect close to if not better than that at Houston.
Ladell Betts - Clinton Portis will be out. Washington plays a bad Tamps Bay team. I like this matchup. While Betts might not get the 25-30 carries a game, but, the way that Joe Gibbs likes to run the ball and concidering the alternatives, Betts isn't a bad option.
Larry Fitzgerald - While Larry only got 80 yrds in week 10, it was against Dallas. Week 11, the Cards host the Lions. While I am a fan of the Lions, I still have to give credit where it's due. Now that he (Larry) has worked out the cobwebs and is ready, I like this matchup.
Tampa Defense - They didn't play horribly against Carolina in week 10. However, in week 11, they do play a Washington team that is featuring a new QB (Jason Campbell). He'll likely make a lot of rookie type mistakes where the Tampa defense can capitalize on.
Sit Em
Reuben Droughns - No offensive line = no thanx. Pass on him.
Michael Vick - First the Falcons lost a blowout to the Lions, then they lost to a miserable Cleveland team. Do you trust Mike against Baltimore?? I don't... definately sit him if you have other options.
Chad Pennington - 1 reason and 1 reason only why I say sit - Chicago. My gut says no way you start Chad here.
Mike Bell & Tatum Bell - Mike Shanahan hates you!! Stay away from Den RB'S! Everyone thought that Mike Bell was going to be the starter through-out. What does Shanahan do last week, not only start Tatum Bell but doesn't even have Mike dress. I say to you again Fantasy owners - Shanahan hates you!!
Waiver Wire
Malcom Floyd - With Eric Parker still possibly out with a neck injury in week 10, Malcom caught 5 passes for 109 yrds & 1 TD. If Parker is still out, Malcom makes for an ok pickup for a flex position in week 11 against Denver.
Patrick Crayton - With Terry Glenn still nursing a knee injury, Patrick is a decent pickup for week 11.
Humor moment of the week
Backup Lions QB Josh McCown has been working out as a WR. It's VERY possible he can see some playing time at Arz. I don't know if I should laugh or cry here.
