October 28, 1962:
The New York Giants' Y.A. Tittle passes for 505 yards and 7 touchdowns, leading accountant Jimmy Sampson's "Kennedy Sensations" to a 105-97 victory over typist Julia Fontaine's "Lawrence Welkathons." The loss dropped Ms. Fontaine's record to 2-and-6, prompting her to mail a first-class letter to her league's commissioner announcing that this would be her final season.
