F1 and the Dangers of Racing

I just wanted to add this in addition to the saddest days in motorsport.

N.B: I would just like to add that this made me feel sick, and I have a very strong stomach - it's a very emotional video.

I personally think that Ratzenberger's or Williamson's crashes were the worst, especially with the other driver rushing to get Williamson out of his car...

wow, that was really graphic. In the one clip, it should a guy running across the track and got hit by the car. Why was he doing that?

He was a marshal with a fire extinguisher coming to the assisatnce of the stricken car. Unfotunately poor Tom Pryce was hit full in the face with the heavy fire extinguisher and this killed him and the marshal. A needless tragedy.

I think I'd rather watch a few boring races as long as I don't see any more of that ever again. Amazing that there is still footage existing of von Trips and Bandani. N.B. They were all at the old style of fast tracks - they've been made much slower and safer now. For the first time, after seeing that that's fine with me.

Yeah, seeing it is so much worse. Like when the drivers (you'll know who) got Lauda out of his car and saved his life at Nurburgring in '76.

I reckon Senna and Ratzenberger was the worst. The first deaths for 12 years, everyone thought the era of people dieing in F1 was over. Ratzenberger will be forgotten because of Senna, but his death probably did more to change the sport, he was a worldwide name. I reckon the San Marino GP that weekend was THE worst in Motor Sport history.
