The race went from bone dry to tipping it down from the start of the formation lap to the start of the race.

Interesting things regarding the safety car - firstly, when Liuzzi went off, notice how the driver accelerated away from the spinning Liuzzi - he had the presence of mind to drive a bit quicker when he saw the accident about to happen. Otherwise it would have been the first time in F1 history that the safety car crashed. Also, furthermore, it was interesting that the safety car was pulling away from the F1 cars - the conditions were so bad that the F1 cars couldn't keep up.
