Extra Innings
When play is tied after 9 innings, the game will then go into extra innings until an inning concludes with one team in the lead. With the home team having the bottom half of the frame, they will always get a chance to score again, but the visiting team does not. Generally a baseball game continues until the tie is broken, but it may be called after enough time has passed.
Example
The Cleveland Indians are in extra innings against the Boston Red Sox in Cleveland. In the top of the 14th, the Red Sox score a run, giving them a 4-3 advantage. However, Cleveland gets another chance to come to the plate, and they again tie the game at 4-4. The next inning, Boston does not score, but Cleveland does - and the game ends with a victory for Cleveland.
