Ewell Phillips (Ewell I. Phillips) was born on April 20, 1909 in Comanche, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Walters (OK), Phillips attended Oklahoma Baptist University. Phillips made his professional debut in the NFL in 1936 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 1 year career.
