Former NFL quarterback — and bane of Minnesota Vikings fans everywhere – Chris Chandler prevailed in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Lake Tahoe over the weekend. Amazingly, Chandler was able to knock off former pitcher Rick Rhoden, who's a beast on the pro-am circuit and had won the event six times before. But that's not the story here.
What I found fascinating was the final leaderboard in the newspaper, a teeny box of statistical goodies accentuated by listing how much money each person won. Now, I assume most of them gave away their earnings to charity – unless LaDanian Tomlinson really needed that $1,751.31 — but the list is still interesting to peruse. Take a gander at some highlights:
- Trent Dilfer - 6th place - $17,742.19
- Tony Romo - 12th place - $0 (amateur)
- Joe Theismann - 14th place - $6,701.31
- Vince Coleman - 17th place - $6,431.31
- Jerry Rice - T-22nd place - $6,026.31
- Dan Majerle - 24th place - $5,801.31
- Johnny Bench - T-36th place - $4,676.31
- Gary Carter - 38th place - $4,541.31
- Michael Jordan - T-42nd place - $0 (amateur)
- Spud Webb - T-50th place - $3,416.31
- Mike Eruzione - 54th place - $3,101.31
