Evar Swanson (Ernest Evar Swanson) was born on October 15, 1902 in DeKalb, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1929 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1929, his rookie year, he hit .300 with 4 home runs and 43 RBI. Swanson played for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Evar Swanson's best season was 1929, when he stole 33 bases and hit for a .300 average.
