European Championship History
The European Championship is the top international competition run by UEFA, Europe's top football body. It has been held every four years since 1960, with the next installment planned for 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
Greece won the most recent championship in a major upset, as the unheralded Greeks beat hosts Portugal in the final.
