Born on October 12, 1901 in Big Rock, Tennessee, Erv Brame (Ervin Beckham Brame) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 5 year career. Brame broke into the bigs on April 14, 1928 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 5.08 ERA in 95.2 innings pitched in 1928, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Erv Brame's best season was 1930, when he posted a 4.70 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 55 batters.
