Born on October 17, 1900 in Prattville, Alabama, Ernie Wingard (Ernest James Wingard) played for the St. Louis Browns for his entire 4 year career. Wingard broke into the bigs on May 1, 1924 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 3.51 ERA in 218 innings pitched in 1924, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Ernie Wingard's best season was 1924, when he posted a 3.51 ERA and won 13 games.
